FPT Industrial has once again claimed victory at the Dakar Rally. The 47th edition of the world’s toughest rally, Dakar 2025, marked another extraordinary achievement as IVECO vehicles—powered by FPT Industrial engines—not only reached the podium but secured nine of the top ten spots in the final rankings. The brand, as an exclusive technical partner, supported the de Rooy FPT teams led by drivers Aleš Loprais, Vaidotas Žala, and Anja Van Loon.

Aleš Loprais, representing the InstaTrade Loprais Team de Rooy FPT, achieved third place with the renowned IVECO Powerstar 2024/2025 model, equipped with the FPT Industrial CURSOR 13 engine. These engines are specifically designed to deliver unmatched performance, efficiency, reliability, and sustainability under the most extreme conditions.

Vaidotas Žala, a new addition to the Skuba Team de Rooy FPT, and Anja Van Loon (Fried Van de Laar Racing Team de Rooy FPT), who both participated in the Dakar 2024, once again showcased exceptional skill. They excelled across the stunning and challenging Saudi Arabian dunes, with Žala achieving six podium finishes in individual stages and Van Loon securing a noteworthy fourth-place stage finish. Žala concluded the rally in fifth place, while Van Loon finished eighth, achieving their personal best results in Dakar history.

This year’s rally, described by the organizers as one of the most challenging in history, comprised twelve stages spanning a total of 8,000 kilometers from Bisha to Shubaytah, with over 5,000 kilometers of timed special stages. Aleš Loprais finished among the top three in eight of the twelve stages and claimed victory in five. This outstanding performance was made possible by the remarkable power and reliability of the vehicle and its engine, which proved steadfast throughout the rally.

At the conclusion of the final stage, Aleš Loprais stated: “As always, Dakar presents countless challenges for us drivers—from the obstacles we face dune by dune to the tests of endurance and resilience that arise in every stage. Each year, the rally brings valuable lessons and unexpected surprises.
